Buccal Fat Pad Removal (Bichectomy)


The Bichat fat pad are two well-defined fat tissue, normally located in the thickness of each cheek, just below the malar bones and directly related to the buccinator muscle, can have a different sizes depending on the characteristics of each individual.

The Buccal fat pads can result in an augment of the lower part of the cheeks, and give a rounded face appearance without overweight. On those patients this fat can be surgically removed through a small procedure inside the mouth.

The buccal fat removal procedure is done through a small incision of 1 to 2 centimeters carried out in the oral mucosa at the height of the molars, leaving no visible scars and minimal discomfort to the patient. It is of short duration procedure, which is performed under local anesthesia.

Resulting the decreasing the volume, causing the cheekbones mark in the face, looking thinner and younger.
